Dixie's Approach: Recycle and Reuse

Dixie approaches each of its power plant demolition and disassembly projects with the goal of minimizing landfill input, which in turn maximizes project revenues. Dixie’s objective is to recycle and re-use as much of any given project as possible in order to avoid the environmental and economic costs associated with placing materials in landfills. Mr. Hendrickson founded Dixie Equipment, LLC (the parent company) in order to realize the opportunities missed by standard demolition contractors that did not recognize the value of the power generation equipment they were routinely depositing in landfills. Dixie Equipment has extensive marketing channels for used power generation equipment and is well known in the industry as a source of such equipment. Dixie Equipment is a major recycler and re-seller of used industrial equipment (with a focus on the power industry) and stays fully engaged with Dixie Demolition in cost recovery efforts for all deconstruction projects.
